Inaccessible links in the repository

Postby steved » Wed Jul 29, 2020 11:41 am

Not sure where this should go, or if its even a bug. I set up an SVN repository mirror from scratch shortly after the move to osdn. When updating, I get a load of errors of the form:

Code: Select all

External: Starting externals...
External failed: D:\ChibiStudio\svn_osdn\tags\spc5studio_components_3.7.0\SPC560Bxx\ChibiOS-RT_Demos_for_SPC560Bxx\resources
Error: Unable to connect to a repository at URL
Error:  'http://svn.code.sf.net/p/chibios/svn/branches/spc5studio_components_trunk/demos'
Error: '/p/chibios/svn/branches/spc5studio_components_trunk/demos' path not found
External failed: D:\ChibiStudio\svn_osdn\branches\spc5studio_components_sprint9\SPC564Axx\ChibiOS-RT_Demos_for_SPC564Axx\resources
Error: Unable to connect to a repository at URL

(Also happened with the original Sourceforge repository).
I've attached the complete log in case it helps.

What is the svn operation that causes those errors?

A routine "SVN Update" on the repository - I use TortoiseSVN.

It is not happening to me, could you try to checkout the trunk again? maybe there is some corrupt metadata.

It's not a one-off; it's been happening certainly since I set up the OSDN repository, and also IIRC in the later stages of the Sourceforge repository (but only just got round to mentioning it!). And it happens on both work and home computers.
A recent development is that at some point PLink is invoked, presumably seeking a certificate or something as authorisation.
My suspicion is that you don't see it because you have all the necessary authorisations in place. I was also surprised to see references to SourceForge repositories.

Hi,

Are you using HTTPS? try svn+ssh:// as protocol.

I was actually using http (which should be good enough for a publically readable repository, surely?). Changing to https made no difference; haven't had a chance to look further.

No change - I continue to get Tortoise attempting to access blocked links (not that I've investigated further).
One of the links requires a login which invokes PLink.

I suspect its the difference between someone who has full rights to access all repositories, and someone who has no more than read-only rights (and not even those on some repositories).

No more than a minor irritant; I don't update from repositories that often

What are the broken links? it should be one of the externals.
