PAL differnce between PORT and PAD ?

Postby motley » Thu May 16, 2013 4:41 pm

Just curious and a sure fire way to demonstrate my ignorance but I was reading the HAL reference manual for the STM32F4 (bfl paid***)...

In the PAL section I find reference to 'Ports' as you would expect and 'Pads' which is not a description I have seen before - is this the same as the pins on a port ?

Thanks,

Chris

A port is a GPIO port like PORTA, PORTG, PORTF and so on. Pad is similar to a pin. Therefore pin 9 of port A would be PA9.
