Re: GCC __attribute___((aligned)) not aligning as expected

Hi,

think GCC aligns the base of the array, not each element of the array.

it makes sense.

Incidentally, is it necessary to align memory to 8 byte boundaries on STM32, or could 4 be sufficient, since it's a 32 bit machine?

Thanks

GCC __attribute___((aligned)) not aligning as expected

Hello,
I'm facing an alignment problem with problem with gcc 7 (the one contained in ChibiStudio preview 21) compiling code for ST NUCLEO-F466RE board.

In fact with this code:

static GUARDEDMEMORYPOOL_DECL(memoryPool, TELEGRAM_SIZE, sizeof (stkalign_t));
static telegram_t mpTelegramWa&#91 ...

Thank you, Mike.
Is there any way to instruct Eclipse/gdb (I'm using Chibistudio) to do that?

Re: Nucleo F767ZI - linker script and breakpoints

Maybe I found it myself: in every REGION_ALIAS line of STM32F76xxI.ld file replace "flash1" with "flash0".

Apparently it works, but is it correct?

Cheers

Re: Nucleo F767ZI - linker script and breakpoints

Hello.
I'm facing the same problem with NUCLEO F767ZI and ChibiOS 191.
Can you please tell me how to modify the linker script in order to have HW breakpoints as default?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Multiple events management

Thanks a lot.

I think I may start getting a grip on events.

Multiple events management

Hello,
I just want to make sure I got it right with events.

I have the following code:

static void sendNlsPktHandler(eventid_t id);
static void sendNhsPktHandler(eventid_t id);

static THD_FUNCTION(serialThread, param) {

(void) param;

static const evhandler_t evhndl[&#93 ...

Re: error CAN settings in HAL example

Hello.
Just to see I'm doing it right: this configuration yields 1 Mbit/s on my STM32-H107 Olimex board?

static const CANConfig cancfg_1MBit = {
CAN_MCR_ABOM | CAN_MCR_AWUM | CAN_MCR_TXFP,
CAN_BTR_SJW(0) | CAN_BTR_TS2(2) |
CAN_BTR_TS1(13) | CAN_BTR_BRP(1)
};

Thanks in advance.

How to make ld generate error on missing symbols

Hello,
first of all I hope this is not a duplicated topic; I have searched before posting, but I may have missed something.

I'm using ChibiStudio preview 20, and the reported behaviour is valid both for GCC 5.4 and GCC 7.0.

If I do not include in the Makefile a particular source file of my project ...
