1) I am not entirely sure how could this be a problem.
2) Which startup files should I remove from the library.
PS: I am a newcomer to ChibiOS/RT.

Demo with static compilation
I ran the STM32 demo in demos/STM32/RT-STM32F407-DISCOVERY. The default Makefile compiles properly.
I changed it into a three step process.
# 1. Make build/libch.a
>> make lib (without main.c)
(last few line of the output)
arm-none-eabi-ar -r build/libch.a build/obj/crt0_v7m.o build ...
