We've been working on a set of STM32F103VE boards with 2", 4" and 7" displays. Here's a snap of the 7" LCD.

Re: Possible RtcCallback problem
Works perfectly now.SD
Well, almost. I changed the BinarySemaphore to a Semaphore. The intent was to pass the RTCcallback event into the waiting thread via the s_cnt value.
This does not work for me at present, and the Semaphore is not passed to the waiting thread at all. I don't see why using a ...

Thanks. I set up a binary semaphore and a H:M:S calc/display thread to wait on it. The RTC callback just signals the semaphore. Works perfectly now.

Possible RtcCallback problem
Hi Giovanni,
We have implemented an LCD driver with Mutex, and also a RTC Callback (in main.c) at 1 second interval. The callback calculates the current H:M:S and displays it on the LCD. All draw functions are enclosed with
chMtxLock(&LCDD.mutex); <code> chMtxUnlock();

Re: Turn on RTC battery backup
Found it. Here's how to get it working.
In mcuconf.h
the internal high speed clock is the default for the RTC tick over. This has to be changed to use the external 32KHz clock.
#define STM32_HSE_ENABLED TRUE
#define STM32_LSE_ENABLED TRUE
#define STM32_RTCSEL STM32_RTCSEL_LSE // was STM32 ...

Turn on RTC battery backup
Our STM32F103VE board has a battery backup for the RTC ... in hal_lld.c I see
/* PWR and BD clocks enabled. */
rccEnablePWRInterface(FALSE);
rccEnableBKPInterface(FALSE);
Looking at the STM specs these appear to set registers that enable an RTC backup timer. I've tried setting these TRUE, but ...

Hi,
I could create a new forum for user's guides ... a user section on the web site wiki.
Giovanni
Certainly I'm happy to contribute to such a well written project.
I think that a new forum (rather than a wiki entry) would be preferable, as code samples are just that, while a user "how to ...

Re: Building 2.4.0 with PWM enabled
Different TIMs for each device: that makes sense, thanks.
On a related issue, I also enabled MAC, and had to add mac_lld.c + .h templates to platforms/STM32 and update the platform.mk file. 2.4.0 now builds, but of course the mac_lld files require updating with the specifics of my boards.

Building 2.4.0 with PWM enabled
Hello Giovanni,
We have updated to 2.4.0 from 2.3.4, and have it running on a Decaf-2 (STM32F103VE) board

with our LCD, graphics and Font library functions. The key matrix functions with the EXT driver and runs a set of graphics tests.
