Re: STM32F103 LibUsb
I'm not sure what line you changed and what works now, but did you install the libUSBx driver for the device? Like described here?

Re: example interfacing a STM32F4 with libusb
So I added the asynchronous libUSB example. I'm not sure if its elegant or something, from the example point of view it looks quite weired, because there is still a main while loop that processes all the events, but thats how libUSB works. It can't create a callback out of nowhere. For a real ...

Re: STM32F103 LibUsb
It seems to make sense. "(void) usbp;" isn't a variable declaration, so the variable declaration has to be moved before that.
Stupid me. (Perhaps I should increase my compiler warning levels?)
*edit* I looked it up, that error only occurs with C90. Since even the // comments are not C90 compliant, I ...

Re: STM32F103 LibUsb
The first two problems youre encountering have to do with differences in the HAL. Giovanni just recently introduced changes to the F4 USB driver that improved the speed quite a lot. Those two fields are hardware dependent, I don't know about the second, but the Multiplier is probably F4 specific at ...

Re: STM32F103 LibUsb
I'd say copy the testhal/STM32F1xx/USB_CDC Folder, replace the main.c with the one from the F4 Libusb thread and give it a try. Apart from commenting the "palTogglePad"s because of the references to the LEDs it compiles fine, I don't have hardware to test though.

Re: example interfacing a STM32F4 with libusb
There are three new configuration option that should be considered when using this driver.
Do you mean "txpending", "thd_ptr" and "thd_wait" ? Those are the only new options I found and as far as I can tell I don't have to fiddle with them at all.
Without changing anything, the new driver works ...

Re: example interfacing a STM32F4 with libusb
It was indeed a problem with libUSB, I only allocated a buffer of one packet, so there was a huge overhead. The benchmark.c now hovers around 1MB/s, even without a hub. Its still 10% below what the CDC example does, I wonder if that's a measuring error or a real difference...

Re: example interfacing a STM32F4 with libusb
Now this is definitely weird: When I use the testhal/USB_CDC I can dd at 1.1MB/s with and without a hub. I could understand when my code has some flaw that reduces speed, but the difference between hub/direct makes me wonder. On the other hand, maybe the hub is out of spec tolerant while the port is ...

Re: example interfacing a STM32F4 with libusb
I tested with Fedora17 & Windows, the Desktop is also much slower directly connected compared to a hub inbetween.
Do you plan to make the threaded FIFO fill interrupt-less?
Also: Is there a way or is it planned to support UBS-host/OTG modes?

Re: example interfacing a STM32F4 with libusb
Hmm, for me it tops out at ~500kb/s but I think this has something to do with my setup. When I connect the F4 directly, I only get 1000 packets per second, when connected through a hub I get the 500kb/s. It still looks good, I will try it later on the workstation.
