Thank you Giovanni. That is very helpful and I managed to dig up the pages in the STM32F4 reference manual. That manual sure is a long one!!!!
Best, Mike.

Clock speed settings: Olimex STM32-E407 board
Hi,
I have a Olimex board with a STM32F4 chip on it. In the documents it says it can run at 168Mhz. But I understand that this is configurable by changing / setting some registers. I have the following newbie questions:
1) The Olimex STM32-E407 board has a "Canned" set up in Chibios 2.6.2. Does ...

Re: LWIP netconn_new returns null
Hi,
Made some more progress. I think I am now sending out some UDP messages using this code:
/*

#include "ch.h"
#include "hal.h"
#include "chprintf.h"
#include <string.h>
#include <lwip/netif.h>
#include <lwip/ip_addr.h>
#include <lwip/tcpip.h>
#include ...

Re: LWIP netconn_new returns null
Hi,
You are correct. I made a bit more progress and the thing I needed was to use tcpip_init(). This solved the issue. lwip_init() is called by tcpip_init. I was using UDP so thought that I did not have to use any calls to tcpXXX. But this is not the case. I also think that other users may not ...

LWIP netconn_new returns null
Hi,
I am trying to send a short message via UDP as a broadcast message. However my call to netconn_new returns a null. I traced it through and it fails in Chibios sys_arch.c line 189 which is the check to see if the mbox is valid.
int sys_mbox_valid(sys_mbox_t *mbox) {
return *mbox != SYS_MBOX ...

Hi,
Success!!!!
Thank you for all your kind help. I think the issue was I had my Mincom looking at /dev/ttyUSB0 when I should have had it look at /dev/ttyUSB1.
Warmest regards, Mike.
This is what I get out of my Minicom:

Re: Olimex UEXT RS 232 newbie print to screen
Hi,
Thank you for your kind help. I think I am making progress. I went home and gave it a go. I think that the Serial Driver on SD6 definately does something. The reason I know is that on my Linux box I see /dev/ttyUSB0, then when I start the program Minicon complains that this device does not ...
