Hi,
You have to verify if there are conflicts on the USB pins, that baseboard does have such problems. USB is well known to work on the normal F4 Discovery.

Re: Devkit407
Yes, I found one and eventually I got it to compile. There was some confusion with the CMSIS api (which header file should be included where).
I used the board file from this demo: http://forum.chibios.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1589&p=14728&hilit=fatfs+embest#p13710
However, the demo didn't ...

I'm trying to use the embest board (STM32F4DIS-BB) with the SMT32F4-discovery kit. Though it is mentioned in the forums, I can't find anything concrete.
So, my question it, what do I need to do to make it work. Do I need to create new board files (board.h/board.c)? Any pointers would be greatly ...

Re: STM32F4 Discovery + Embest BB Demo
I'm trying to compile ff9b.zip with ChibiOS 2.7 (I belive. Cloned it a few days ago). I get this compile error

Re: Wrong results with hardware FP
I know the FPU is enabled and working because the scheduler is able to save/restore the FPU registers. Probably this is more a compiler-related issue.
Note that the FPU only supports single floats (32 bits), if you use float/double types then you are using an sw implementation.

Re: Wrong results with hardware FP
It is possible that complex functions like sqrt are not implemented as single flu instructions so a library call is generated. Libraries should be compiled to use the fpu anyway.

I will have to look into the library question, but how come the result only reflects the first call (sqrt(10 ...

Wrong results with hardware FP
When I compile my code with
USE_OPT += -mthumb -march=armv7e-m -mfloat-abi=hard -mfpu=fpv4-sp-d16
I get completely wrong results. Example,
mlaFL = (float)sqrt((float)10.0f);
mlaFL = (float)sqrt(mlaFL);
mlaFL = (float)sqrt(mlaFL);
mlaFL = (float)sqrt(mlaFL);

Re: which algorithm to check STM32F4 CRC32
Ok. My bad. I didn't apply the change to RBIT() consistently. This code works !!! Thanks a lot
#define crcReset() (CRC->CR = 1)
#define crcRead() (__RBIT(CRC->DR) ^ 0xFFFFFFFF)
#define crcWrite(x) {CRC->DR = __RBIT(x);}

int i;

Re: which algorithm to check STM32F4 CRC32
I've defined these macro in my crc header file
#define crcReset() (CRC->DR = 1)
#define crcRead() (__REV(CRC->DR) ^ 0xFFFFFFFF)
#define crcWrite(x) {CRC->DR = __REV(x)}
__REV is a macro defined in the CMSIS (core_cminstr.h I think...). It is a wrapper around the rbit instruction.
it ...

Re: which algorithm to check STM32F4 CRC32
Can you post some code of what you've tried?
Sure. Here goes,
/*

#include <stm32_rcc.h>
#include <stm32f4xx.h>
uint32_t
crc32(uint32_t *p, int len)
{
int i;
CRC_TypeDef *CReg;
CReg = (CRC_TypeDef *)CRC_BASE;
CReg->CR = (uint8_t)1;
for ( i = 0; i < len; i ...
