Re: ADC banks 2 and 3 on STM32

You did all by yourself :-) Your approach and conclusions are correct, ADC3 is not a problem, just follow the patterns. ADC2 cannot be implemented as a standalone ADC unit. ADC2 could be only implemented as a special mode of ADC1, enabling one of those linked modes in the context of the ADC1 driver....

Re: Need delay after sdStart() or I get garbage

It is possible that the problem happens during the switch of the TX pin from GPIO to USART. The GPIO pin should be programmed to be an output driving a logic one during initialization and the logic one should last at least one frame time in order for the receiver to synchronize. Try to put the delay...

Re: Need delay after sdStart() or I get garbage

Hi,

What kind of delay do you have to insert?

Anyway, I have to run some tests about this issue, thanks for reporting.

Re: 2.2.x stable branch

Hello, ChibiOS/RT version 2.2.0 stable has been released. This is the first release in the new stable branch, more releases in the old stable branch 2.0.x will now be considered only after an explicit request. Starting from this release there are several options for the documentation: ⋅ On...

Re: serial write completion and documentation mismatch

Understood, in ChibiOS you may also use a Virtual Timer and stop the read within the timer callback, there is no need to use an HW timer if the systick resolution is sufficient.

Re: serial write completion and documentation mismatch

You wouldn't need any timer, the UART driver has a callback for the transmission end. Anyway, you are correct, the unbuffered driver is harder to use because its API was designed with finite state machines in mind, it is purely asynchronous. If you prefer a sequential synchronous approach then the b...

Re: serial write completion and documentation mismatch

Although, I think that it would be helpful to indicate more clearly on the docs which release they correspond to. For example, both on the docs front page (http://chibios.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=chibios:documents) and the front page for each of the individual docs (http://chibios.sourceforge.net/d...

Re: serial write completion and documentation mismatch

Hi Ian, About the RS485, you may also consider the solution proposed in this thread by Joaquin: http://forum.chibios.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=34 This solution does not involve any busy waiting. Another option is to use the unbuffered UART driver, it has a callback on transmission end and is...

Re: STM32 sd Spurious Character

Hi Joaquin,

Thanks for the code, it is about what I was thinking to do except my idea was to broadcast an event instead of clearing a pad. I will include this change after releasing 2.2.0.

Re: STM32 sd Spurious Character

Ok, anyway 2.2.0 should be released during next weekend.

Probably it would be a good idea to add an "end of transmission" event to the buffered serial driver too.
