(Is there a dedicated sub-forum for MPC563x? I guess SPC563Mx and MPC563x are pretty close, but the sub-forum name says SPC563Mx only)
I wonder if anyone knows which mass-market vehicles have used xPC563x in their engine control units? There are rumors about some Fords and some 2006+ V8 GMs, but I would love to get something more specific.
Also - has anyone tried flashing anything ChibiOS into an existing ECU?
Any mass-market vehicle with xPC56x?

Re: Any mass-market vehicle with xPC56x?
Hi,
Those are Freescale-only devices, the SPC port is sponsored by ST so it is unlikely that support will be added. The supported devices so far are:
SPC56xP
SPC56xB/C
SPC560D
SPC56xL
SPC563M
SPC564A
MPC56 and SPC56 devices are exactly the SAME, ST and FSL developed them jointly, but some devices are ST-specific some others FLS-specific. You may discuss MPC devices in this same forum.
It is one of the rare cases of modern MCUs with multiple suppliers.

Re: Any mass-market vehicle with xPC56x?
I am slow and now I am totally confused.
MPC563x - is the 'x' like a star which would mean 'any' (like in MPC563*) or is MPC563x a specific processor?
So, do I need to find something with
MPC56xP
MPC56xB/C
MPC560D
MPC56xL
MPC563M
MPC564A
?
I'm sorry for the stupid questions

Re: Any mass-market vehicle with xPC56x?
It is very simple, if the ST part is SPC563Mxx then the FSL part is MPC563xM, the key part is the "M".

How simple it it if
SPC563Mxx
becomes
MPC563xM
I really hope it's a typo

The "x" and "xx" parts are different, both are numbers describing the flash size but the encoding is different, the devices are the same if both are "M".

I don't know that one, it seems to be an older device dating before the joint development with ST. The one I know all have 4 digits after "MPC".
