STM32F4 CRYPT driver

Postby richardfromnz » Tue Jan 07, 2025 1:23 am

the STM32F415/7 and STM32F43x processors include a cryptographic module that on quick comparison of datasheets (STM32F4 vs. H7) seem to have the same/very similar functionality and interface register definitions to other STM32 family members. but are not currently supported in chibiOS HAL (looking at stable_21.11.x branch)

Is anyone aware of any concrete reason for them not being supported (significant functionality and/or interface register definition differences), or is it just that noone has got around to doing it yet?

thanks,
Richard

hi,

Just bandwidth issue, it could be supported but it is behind lots of more pressing developments.

The IPs are very similar, probably adding support would not be a huge effort, want to give it a try?
