It looks interesting, the page does not give any detail about that GDB server however.

Farnell reports it available starting from 25 September, there is still time. I find it interesting because the CM0+, I like shiny new toys.

By the way, there is also this module with a K40+J-link for $35:

Don't know if this replacement debugger firmware would work for the new boards. There are restrictions on how it is used.

OpenSDA / OpenSDA V2 firmware
SEGGER offers a firmware running on the Freescale OpenSDA platform which makes OpenSDA compatible to J-Link Lite, allowing users to take advantage of most J-Link features like the ultra fast flash download and debugging speed or the free-to-use GDBServer, by using a low-cost OpenSDA platform for developing on evaluation boards.
Re: Kinetis KL25Z Freedom Board - CM0+
Yes, the Segger OpenSDA firmware is supposed to work on the FRDM-KL25Z. The newest Freedom boards use OpenSDAv2 (I think FRDM-K64F and K22F?). But Segger prohibits you from using it to program an external board. Lame. Of course they want you to buy the standalone J-Link for other stuff.
But I found that an ST-Link/V2 works fabulously with OpenOCD/gdb/ChibiOS. So I just solder on a standard Cortex Debug 10-pin header to the FRDM-KL25Z board and use my ST-Link/V2 with it. Beautiful.. Segger J-Link is a great product, but it's not necessary, especially if you want to hack on open source stuff or take advantage of OpenOCD's support for ChibiOS RTOS integration which is super helpful.

Hi,
Could you write a small guide about that? a lot of people have discovery boards that could be used that way.
