i got around to test the non-bootloader mode on my maple.
i am afraid that there was a little issue, but i fixed it.
also i fixed another few comment/style things (including usb vendor) and added a little readme about flashing without bootloader.

if you commit one of the earlier patches, i will come back with a corrected patch.
