I found the problem!
The problem is in the board.mk file in boards/OLIMEX_STM32_E407_REV_D. It refers back to the source files in the original OLIMEX_STM32_E407 board directory instead of to the files in the _REV_D directory, so even when you change the reference in the top level Makefile, it is still really pulling in the old (rev A,B,C) board file.

Thanks, I will fix it in 2.6.8, it is OK in 3.0.0 already.

I couldn't find lwip in 3.0.0. The os/ext directory only has CMSIS. Where is it? I tried downloading it separately but the directory structure is very different.

Re: STM32-E407 Ethernet performance!
Sorry I'm being slow, but I really have looked...I downloaded the latest ChibiOS-master (is this the right place to get it: https://github.com/ChibiOS/ChibiOS), and went through the folders and could not find community. Is it somewhere else?
BTW, I am really enjoying ChibiOS; I have only been using it for a short time and already have it running on my target platform, talking to the radio transceiver I use, and bridging packets to IP...it is fast, elegant, and very easy to use; thank you!!!

The 'master' ChibiOs is on sourceforge, using Subversion: http://sourceforge.net/p/chibios/svn/HEAD/tree/
The 'community' repository is somewhere else, with a link to the main repository - I imagine it is automatically included if you download the main. This is what happened for me some months ago, anyway.

Re: STM32-E407 Ethernet performance!
@ dalbert,
The main development repository resides on sourceforge
http://sourceforge.net/p/chibios/svn/HEAD/tree/
If you check out it than community overlay will be fetched automatically.
Github contains read only mirror of SVN repo wihtout community overlay.
Adding it as submodule by default will cause pain during merging changes
from svn to git. In other words you have to check out master branch
and add submodule in it. Instructions here:
https://github.com/ChibiOS/ChibiOS-Cont ... DME-git.md

Barthess, could you move those info in the community wiki?
