Problem solved. Bought the Zero Plus logic analyzer - that was the key. I was programming SPI3 CS as PAL_MODE_ALTERNATE(6). I thought this was necessary. It wasnt. I think it was only working before due to noise - it was sensitive. Bottom line is - CS wasnt dropping with the PAL_MODE_ALTERNATE(6). Removed that, CS dropped appropriately - everything worked as it was supposed to.
