Hi Giovanni,

I tried to debug the controller several times. Once an error concerning MAC appeard in the console. Thus I checked everything which may makes use of it.

I disabled the MAC usage in the halconfig. Further, I noticed web and lwip where included in my make file (remainings of my copy paste "strategy" :mrgreen: ). I disabled both.

Now the LED blinks :D ! I will try to figure out why lwip causes an error. I need lwip for my desired ethernet connection. I will give an update if I managed the to establish an ethernet connection. Further, I will give an update concerning the maximum possible system clock speed @ 1.8 V.

BR and have a nice weekend :D

Does the PHY work down to 1.8V? (I can imagine that, if nothing else, you might need a different set of magnetics to handle the presumably reduced voltage switch out of the PHY).

Hi,

by now my "low voltage" board works fine. It operates with a system clock of 168 MHz @ 1.8 VDD. I have not tested 180 MHz.

Further, it seems the PHY identifier have caused my problems. Initially the BOARD_PHY_ID was set to MII_DP83848I_ID, which was used in my 3.3V project. At steved, I'm using an appropriate PHY :), which can handle the 1.8 V. So, not the supply voltage was the problem, the PHY identifier caused the trouble. I'm using the DP8322I from TI, as it isn't defined so far, I extened the mii.h file by

Code: Select all

#define MII_DP83822I_ID         0x2000A240

where 0x2000A240 is the PHY identifier stated in the datasheet.
