The API is pretty close but there are no immediate plans.

You can take a closer look on the project https://github.com/martinribelotta/ChibiOS-JS. It is not very active but it is still alive in my opinion. It uses posix implementation and useful extensions in ngshell.
Javascript interpreter or other approach like EmbrIO (https://code.google.com/p/chibios-embrio/) is also very nice extension for nowadays RTOS based embedded systems. In that order of thoughts thanks to both posix, extensible shell and scripting the perfect feature it could be added for completeness is RNDIS (CDC) Ethernet Device support.
Multiply CDC support over HS USB is very useful for creating communication channels for shell, networking and user data transfer. Alternative is to have extensive USB stack like LUFA (http://www.fourwalledcubicle.com/LUFA.php) supporting composite devices.
I am looking into this direction and any advice will be welcome.
