I am looking at the Timer feature comparison table of the f4 family - TIM9 has two channels, I know ChibiOS is not using all four channels anyway. The only feature missing is the Counter type - only "UP"...
Is this the reason TIM9 & TIM12 are not available in the ICU driver? Or is it because the driver is shared by the whole STM32 family?
what is wrong with tim9 on stm32f4?

Re: what is wrong with tim9 on stm32f4?
Hi,
Timers with only two comparators are not a problem, the ICU function could be implemented using the current code. It is mainly a testing issue, imagine having to test all combinations on all platforms.
The other problem is that some timers have their IRQs shared with other timers on some STM32 and that makes everything more complex. I prefer to not support timers sharing their IRQs and leave those "available to users".
