I'm trying to use the embest board (STM32F4DIS-BB) with the SMT32F4-discovery kit. Though it is mentioned in the forums, I can't find anything concrete.
So, my question it, what do I need to do to make it work. Do I need to create new board files (board.h/board.c)? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Devkit407
Hi,
I think board files have been posted in the forum. If I remember well the problem is that you cannot have all accessories together because conflicts, you need custom board files depending on what you attach.

Yes, I found one and eventually I got it to compile. There was some confusion with the CMSIS api (which header file should be included where).
I used the board file from this demo: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1589&p=14728&hilit=fatfs+embest#p13710
However, the demo didn't work in so far that the USB-CDC interface did not appear on my PC (I have coded and used the USB-serial stuff before so
I think I know how to do that).
I did use the board definition provided in that demo to see if I could make it work in my application but it simply seems to kill USB
altogether (not only the serial stuff).
If I use the board files in boards/ST_STM32F4_DISCOVERY, USB works but I cannot access the SD Card.
My question is really, what do I need to read and understand to get this to work. Chibi has been fairly straight forward until now
but maybe I have to dig deeper. I plan to eventually build a custom board based on the 427-cpu with another pinout and some
other hardware coupled to it so probably this is something I need to know anyway.

Re: Devkit407
Hi,
You have to verify if there are conflicts on the USB pins, that baseboard does have such problems. USB is well known to work on the normal F4 Discovery.

Yes, it works on mine with the stm32f4 board files too, even with the embest board mounted. It stops working when I use a different board file. That's why I wonder how do I debug board files. What do they do for chibhi and where can I learn about it?

Re: Devkit407
You have to study the schematic of those boards and compare with board files definitions, while doing that look also for possible conflicts.
