Hi,

Are there ready-to-use board files available for the STM32f411-Nucleo board?
I can use the STM32F401-Nucleo as base, and make the needed adjustments, but I want to ask first :-)

Thanks!

Hi,

Yes in 3.0. Anyway, nucleo boards are all exactly the same, you can copy the board files of the 401 and just change the name of the board and the device identifier, everything else is OK.

Ok, thanks. But there are some small differences. Like the F411 has SPI5 while F401 don't.
Anyway, I'll take the F401 as base, and make some changes if I need them.

Those are not board-level differences.

Oops, yes, correct.
Sorry.

Giovanni, Would this mean that it's an idea to separate "boards" and "processors"?
Like nucleo I have a board that can handle different processors.

My current project has a BOARD=<directory of the board makefile and board.c/h> and then
include $(BOARD)/board.mk
The "board.mk" then more or less becomes "constant" because it uses the $(BOARD) macro. (i.e. might be eliminated if all of them end up being the same)

It is up to you to decide, there could be differences, for example the board name varies depending on the mounted MCU.
