STM32F7xx manuals released

Hi,

Just saw them, basically it is an F4 with the improved UART/SPI/I2C found on the F3 (very good thing), the ADC seems to be the same of the F4. GPIO goes up to PORT-K now.

Of course the core is the new Cortex-M7. Initial support should not take long considering it is a logical evolution of previous devices.

Now waiting for HW and OpenOCD support.

I got my hands on a STM32F7Discovery today. Really nice devboard with a lot of hardware.

  • Nice big capacitive touchscreen
  • Dual MEMS microphones
  • 3,5 mm sterio audio input and output
  • Ethernet
  • HS and FS micro USB
  • STLink/V2
  • Arduino compatible headers
  • microSD slot
  • Camera interface
  • Coaxial SPDIF input

No additional headers apart from the Arduino shield though, like we are used to from the other Discovery boards.

The M7 core is really fast. For a lot of operations the M4 takes almost twice the number of cycles. In addition to that it runs at 200 MHz.

Do you know anything about GCC support for the M7 simultaneous execution? Only tried IAR so far.

Nice, I have yet to receive mine...

No info about GCC. I bet it will be supported very soon because ARM backs the project.

Nice!

Will give GCC a try this weekend if I have the time.

I have not tried yet but I suspect that the Cortex-M4 code should work as-is.
