STM32F3xx HSI config

Post by fractal »

Hello,

I just created a new project for a STM32F3 with the latest Chobistudio/Chibios, am using timer 1 and 8 (running with PCLK2 and PLL, respectively) and wanted to deactivate HSI as I don't think I need it (PLL is fed by HSE). Now, the compiler threw me a ton or warnings and errors which lead me to the hal_lld.h for this architecture, which includes a check for all kinds of stuff that needs HSI. There is also this check:

Code: Select all

#if STM32_TIM1SW == STM32_TIM1SW_HSI
#error "HSI not enabled, required by STM32_TIM1SW"
#endif

#if STM32_TIM8SW == STM32_TIM8SW_HSI
#error "HSI not enabled, required by STM32_TIM8SW"
#endif

Now, STM32_TIM1SW_HSI and STM32_TIM8SW_HSI are undefined (amd the CPP then generates the errors anyway), probably because you can't run these timers off the HSI.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Regards,
Thomas

I will verify, it is probably a bug.
