STM32F2xx support in Chibios 3.0.2

Hi all,
I'm trying to test Chibios 3.0.2 with a STM32F2 board I have. Browsing the sources, it seems that STM32F2xx support is missing, am I right?
What would be the minimal changes necessary to add F2 support (maybe only for the device I'm using - STM32F207VC), considering that Chibios 2.6 already had support for this MCU?
Thank you!
Regards,
Diego.

Hi,
There is support for F2, it is handled as a special case of the F4 but there are no demos. In board.h you need to specify STM32F2XX as device, everything else is equal.

Hi Giovanni, thanks for your answer.
I can't get to compile a basic F2 example. I specified STM32F2XX in board.h, but it doesn't work. I see there are missing bits, for example in the stm32_registry.h. Also, I can't find the stm32f2xx.h CMSIS header (the stm32f4xx.h is included when I compile for the F4), nor the linker scripts for the F2 family.
Maybe I'm missing some #define somewhere... Or should I specify the F407 if I'm using the F207?
I attach the ultra-basic project, for you to check it out (if you have some time).
Thanks again!
Diego.

hi,
Apparently some files required for the F2 are missing in 3.0.x, I will add again the support in 3.0.3.
In the meanwhile you could try to use it like an F407 taking care to setup the clock at 120MHz max.

Hi again,
I committed the files required for STM32F2 support in the repository but probably I will not merge them with 3.0.x (I cannot test it
), the support will be released in 3.1.x for sure.

Hi Giovanni,
Thanks for your quick answer! I'll check the repository, and if I can't get it to work, I'll try using the F407.
Thanks!!
Diego.
