I have installed standard edition "for C/C++ developers"

installed features:
org.eclipse.cdt (9.0.0.201606062011) "Eclipse C/C++ Development Tools"
org.eclipse.cdt.build.crossgcc (9.0.0.201606062011) "CDT GCC Cross Compiler Support"
org.eclipse.cdt.gdb (9.0.0.201606062011) "GDB Common"
org.eclipse.cdt.launch.remote (9.0.0.201606062011) "C/C++ Remote Debug Launcher"
org.eclipse.cdt.mylyn (5.16.0.v20160421-1902) "Mylyn Context"

org.eclipse.cdt.debug.mi.core nowhere to be found (neither in "marketplace")

Try reverting to a previous version, there must be incompatibilities.

Apparently the CDI debugger has been removed entirely, the plugin cannot work starting from Neon.

The plugin should be updated to use the DSF debugger but I have no bandwidth to do that right now, you may use Eclipse Luna or Mars.

Hello,
Is there any progress or update for Chibi Eclipse plugin to work with Neon?
Following the discussion on https://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/c ... 30668.html , I find that Liviu's problem got resolved by helping from CDT maintaining group.
I really wish I can start ChibiStudio which is based on Neon CDT.

Hi,

The problem is not just removing dependencies, in Neon the old debugging interface has been removed entirely, the ChibiOS plugin requires a significant rework. It will happen at some time but I cannot give a time line yet.

Currently the latest Eclipse version compatible is Mars.

Hi,
That's all right. Thanks for quick replying.
I had read through the conversation between Liviu and CDT maintaining team, I understand the problem is from the old debugging interface has been removed. I understand that it seems a quite work for Plug-in implementer to rework to fit Neon, but with helping from one of guy from CDT maintaining team, it looks a quick solution available. I'm just wondering if you guy can ask for the similar help from CDT maintaining team, specifically Jonah Graham, who had helped Liviu by reading through Liviu's source code and providing a very quick solution.
The CDT maintaining team seems be aware of the removal of old debugging interface will cause problem to plugin implementer and willing to help.
Meanwhile, I probably will start on Mars to try ChibiStudio out.

-Andy

Its not just the Chibi plugin - embsysregview doesn't work under neon yet, either.

And that's very useful on occasion.
