Load firmware with st-link Linux

Post by PavloT »

My 2-cents about STM32 under Linux:
Today I notice that st-link implementation from Texane has flash utility.
Usage is the following (tested on STM32VL-Discovery):

Code: Select all

st-flash write v1 demos/ARMCM3-STM32F100-DISCOVERY/build/ch.bin 0x8000000

Quite useful to use in make files when you don't need a debug session.

here's the command for using dfu-util with the device in boot loader mode and connected via usb:

Code: Select all

dfu-util -a 0 --dfuse-address 0x08000000 -D build/ch.bin

It is really nice tool (at least for my Windows friends who hate CLI), but seems it is not usable for STM32VLDiscovery

Does qstlink2 support Stlink v1?
I saw this message in 49-stlinkv2.rules

Code: Select all

# stm32 discovery boards, with onboard st/linkv2
# ie, STM32L, STM32F4.
# STM32VL has st/linkv1, which is quite different
