Okay, I took the ipv6 stuff out of the project and now am stuck with the following errors, for example:
Error[Li005]: no definition for "sys_mbox_valid" [referenced from C:\ChibiOS_2.6.4\projects\ethernet_lwip_iar\iar\Debug\Obj\tcpip.o]
Error[Li005]: no definition for "sys_mbox_post" [referenced ...

lwip IAR Build
I am running into a build problem using the IAR IDE. The problem seems to be with the inability to differentiate between:
C:\ChibiOS_2.6.4\ext\lwip\src\include\ipv4\lwip\icmp.h
C:\ChibiOS_2.6.4\ext\lwip\src\include\ipv6\lwip\icmp.h
The ipv4.c and and ipv6.c both include:
#include "lwip/icmp.h ...
C:\ChibiOS_2.6.4\ext\lwip\src\include\ipv4\lwip\icmp.h
C:\ChibiOS_2.6.4\ext\lwip\src\include\ipv6\lwip\icmp.h
The ipv4.c and and ipv6.c both include:
#include "lwip/icmp.h ...

Re: IAR project setup
Thanks for your weekend help.
Added the directories one at a time, one for each error.
One step at a time. Now how about the linker. I am getting errors such as these:
Error[Li005]: no definition for "halInit" [referenced from C:\ChibiOS_2.6.4\projects\four_motor_iar\iar\Debug\Obj\main.o]

IAR project setup
How do I get IAR to search the ChibiOS_2.6.4 directory structure for the files needed to compile?
There is a spot in the Project > Options > C/C++ Complier > Preprocessor, to add directories, but it seems as though every leaf directory needs to be listed. Seems there should be an easier way.

Re: otg & lwip debugging
I have so far been unable to get the debugger to work with ChibiStudio, STM32F4-Discovery, ST-Link environment. Seems to be an openocd - stlink problem. It complains about the interface speed. I tried to set it at 1000k as a post suggested, but that did not help.

Re: otg & lwip debugging
Oh, that is probably something that makes life easier:)
If I start with the working code and enable the MAC subsystem the problem presents itself. So in the halconfig.h:
/**
* @brief Enables the MAC subsystem.
*/
#if !defined(HAL_USE_MAC) || defined(__DOXYGEN__)
#define HAL_USE_MAC TRUE
#endif ...

otg & lwip debugging
This is not so much a Chibios problem. I have an proto application with USART and OTG running and have been using prints to the shell for my debugging. Now I am trying to add ethernet. When I add the stuff for the lwip to the makefile, mcuconfig.h, and halconfig.h the OTG regs are either not getting ...

Re: Problem with large constant character strings
Anyone interested in taking a look at full code to see what the problem might be? If so, holler and I'll attach a zip file. I am using an STM32F4 Discovery board, Yagarto, Chibios 2.6.4, STM32 ST-LINK Utility, and TeraTerm for my setup. Thanks, ALB

Re: Problem with large constant character strings
Looking at the FLASH memory it looks like the menu1 table is getting put into three separate areas of FLASH instead of being located contiguously as I would have expected. Some of the data is missing - unless the five lines of hyphens are getting stored as just one line since they are all the same ...

Re: Problem with large constant character strings
I have not used the debugger yet. Probably my next step. I am not using an IDE so, I'm looking on how to use debugger. Thanks, ALB
