I understand, this would indeed result in some speed improvement.
I'm trying to get the "transmit-only" procedure working, but unsuccessful so far.
Is it possible that the OVR flag, which is set after the second transmission, is blocking any further SPI communication or something like that?
Also, it ...

Re: SPI performance
Thanks for your reply.
However, while the Freescale Kinetis has a 4 word SPI Tx FIFO, I can't find any traces of a SPI FIFO in the STM32F4xx (without using DMA) nor something in the SPI SR to check the FIFO.
I'm quite new to this, so most likely I'm missing something. Maybe you know this off the ...

Re: SPI performance
Hi,
While this is quite a performance gain, I still have some questions if it is possible to make it even faster.
As you can see here http://www.otte.be/stm32/ugfx_3.jpg only 1/4 of the available bus time is actually used. I wonder where all the time is wasted.
I did some googling ...

Re: SPI3 Problem on a STM32F4-Discovery board
Found it, had to set PAL_MODE_ALTERNATE(6) for the SPI pins.

SPI3 Problem on a STM32F4-Discovery board
Hi,
I 'm facing some trouble with a SPI connected LCD. The LCD is connected to SPI3, but could not measure a clock pulse on the SPI SCK (GPIOB 3) line.
Anyway, I suspected an user error, and decided to try one of the SPI samples (\testhal\STM32F4xx\SPI).
This is by default configured for SPI2, and ...

Re: Board files for STM32F411RE-Nucleo
Ok, thanks. But there are some small differences. Like the F411 has SPI5 while F401 don't.
Anyway, I'll take the F401 as base, and make some changes if I need them.

Re: Failed to compile usb_lld.c in Keil
I think you need to enable the -C99 option in µVision.
The error "declaration may not appear after executable statement in block" is typical when the support for the ISO C99 standard is not enabled.

Board files for STM32F411RE-Nucleo
Hi,
Are there ready-to-use board files available for the STM32f411-Nucleo board?
I can use the STM32F401-Nucleo as base, and make the needed adjustments, but I want to ask first
Thanks!
