Re: [FYI] Licensing News

I think this is an excellent development. I know when I looked at the licensing options a while ago, the only concern that I had was the need to tweak something in the HAL and what impact that might have had on what version I could run. This latest change completely removes any concern on that ...

Re: STM32F4 ADC configuration

Please read all the related documentation. I don't know how this can be «hazy»?

It's the ADCCLK clock.

The STM32_ADC_ADCPRE macro in your mcuconf.h defines the prescaler for that clock.

You'll also want to make sure you look very closely at the diagram in the relevant reference manual ...

Re: STM32 MAC driver optimization

I also fixed the expression in the CRC checking offload but I am not sure how to test that, forgot how to patch lwIP about that.

See the "checksum options" section in lwipopts.h. There are a bunch of "CHECKSUM_..." defines that tell lwIP not to verify checksums on reception and generate them on ...

Re: One thread waiting on multiple events?

Thanks, this is just the sort of pointer I was looking for. I didn't know that the serial driver had an event source, I'll investigate that further.

I'm wondering if there would be use for a common capability through the I/O channel, Sequential Streams or I/O Queues abstraction to be able to have ...

One thread waiting on multiple events?

I've been hacking along on an application, and I'm trying to reduce the number of threads to cut down on the per-thread stack RAM use. My application has a somewhat complex state machine at the core. At present, I have multiple tasks using the state machine protected with a mutex to ensure one trip ...

Re: mcu frequency problem

I wonder if that's a 24MHz 3rd-overtone crystal, oscillating at it's base frequency of 8 MHz? I think that the capacitance in the circuit is somewhat critical based on what I remembered reading some app notes about this sort of thing months ago. I think it's fairly unusual to have a socket in this ...

Re: [RFC] Ideas for ChibiOS/RT 3.0

Then you can just make serial ports accessible through the C library by implementing the whole syscalls.c, much easier than creating a whole Posix wrapper.
That leaves the actual paths to the devices...

4\/3!!

I'm not really at all interested in more complete POSIX emulation in ChibiOS; if I ...

Re: [RFC] Aging Platforms

Should Giovanni spend his time learning a new revision control system, or writing code? It seems that if git has an interface to a subversion repository, then all the rest ought to be able to git to their heart's content already.

Besides, everyone knows that hg/Mercurial and emacs are clearly the ...

Re: i2c hangs when reading just one byte

I think this also applies to the I2C peripheral in the STM32L15x family, too. I recall having a similar problem using the STM32LDISCOVERY board.
