Thank you Giovanni for the prompt response and thank you for ChibiOS. I used the validator and added the pins and ports that are not really used in the Black Pill, I thought unused pins could be left out. If I wanted to contribute the file, what steps are necessary?
Any news about the black pill ...

Re: Information about chibios 20
Ok, I managed to generate my new board file using the board.chcfg file of the STM32f4_DISCOVERY.
I've also seen that there is a board.fmpp, if I understand correctly is used to generate the chcfg file... But I didn't understand how to do it.
Where can I find reference guide for chibistudio? In the ...

Information about chibios 20
Dear all,
After a long time, I came back to embedded development/Chibios.
I opened again the old code of my old project, and I wanted to port it from Chibios 2.4.3 to Chibios 20.3.
I was aware of the changes, particularly during the transition to Chibios 3 (if I'm not wrong), that changed some ...

Re: STM32F4-Discovery debug envirorment
Only if you enabled CORTEX_ENABLE_WFI_IDLE=TRUE somewhere, the option is not even available in configuration files.
Giovanni
Obviously, you were right.
CORTEX_ENABLE_WFI_IDLE is correctly set to false.
so, i've tryed to comment all my code, leaving just a infinite loop and

Re: STM32F4-Discovery debug envirorment
WFI is not enabled by default in ChibiOS demos so it is not your problem.
Giovanni
there is a possibility that I've enabled it by mistake? how can i check it?
I'm not an expert like you, but the behaviour of my project& debugger, looks like the problem is the one reported... I've no any ideas ...

Re: STM32F4-Discovery debug envirorment
Sorry for double-posting...
I was trying to copy the configuration without success, so, i start thinking if that was an openocd issue.
So i tryed to import my project in the ChibiStudio workspace, copied one of the default configuration, modifying only the configuration name & project.

Re: STM32F4-Discovery debug envirorment
You have to select the project (click on it) then launch OpenOCD from the external tools menu.
Folowing extactly your instruction worked. A bit strange behaviour for an eclipse launcher, however
Personally i think that if I click again the flash & run configuration, the launcher shuold work ...

Re: STM32F4-Discovery debug envirorment
ChibiStudio is a normal Eclipse Juno, you can also do Java etc.
Giovanni
I know, but ther's not a Debian repo of ChibiStudio xD
I'm a bit "closed" about this stuff...
however I've tried ChibiStudio, the first time it shows the same problems I've already noticed with my configuration, but then ...

Re: STM32F4-Discovery debug envirorment
Hi,
Don't worry about the bad English, it can't be worse than mine.
it can be much worse xD
OpenOCD can be problematic at times but I never experienced problems like the ones you reported, probably there is something wrong with your debug configuration.
