For all the people interested: The licensing options for ChibiOS/GFX are currently a work in progress thing. I've involved some professional people to get things finally right.

I have a question regarding this licensing for my project, which I want it to be open source software, but closed hardware - I will basically be selling my hardware and bundling the software for free. I do want my users to be able to expand upon what I've coded - sometimes customisation will be needed.

From my understanding, using ChibiOS/RT in this context is fine, it this correct?

I will provide links back to ChibiOS/RT and another software I'm using, in the forms of readme's and links on websites, etc.

Anything else I would need to cover?

Hi,

Yes it is fine, you are granting your users the same rights you received and this is what the GPL is about. All you need to do is to make ChibiOS available, a visible link to the ChibiOS website is sufficient.
