No clue, but unless you are using a defective device it must be something related to GPIO or clocks because the differences between your code and existing demos are all there apparently.

All initializations are performed in halInit() and by the lwip thread.

Hmmm... It's been a week and I did not figure anything out. I apparently have a 25MHz clock running on the MII chip, and still the init blocks at the starting procedure. I wonder what else I could miss, because i do not have the same chip as the example ( the ethernet chip is the DP83848C by TI on the stm3210C-eval), so I changed that in the board.h, but perhaps a few other config parameters are missing? My mcuconf did not had any MAC driver settings, so I added the ones i found on the example based on the Olimex STM32-P107 example. I now have these in the mcuconf.h :

Code: Select all

#define STM32_MAC_TRANSMIT_BUFFERS          2
#define STM32_MAC_RECEIVE_BUFFERS           4
#define STM32_MAC_BUFFERS_SIZE              1522
#define STM32_MAC_PHY_TIMEOUT               100
#define STM32_MAC_ETH1_CHANGE_PHY_STATE     TRUE
#define STM32_MAC_ETH1_IRQ_PRIORITY         13
#define STM32_MAC_IP_CHECKSUM_OFFLOAD       0

Do I need something more?

what is the status of your problem now?
I faced the same issue with stm32f4-eval board and after lots of tries i finally got it working. If you tell me exactly where are you stuck i might be able to help.

as a starting point take the board files from the following link and check the ethernet pin mapping(should match with your board).
