Problems STM32 Port to Crossworks Toolchain

Post by Flo89 »

Hallo experts,

I'm currently trying to port "ARMCM4-STM32F407-DISCOVERY" project to my Crossworks (GCC) toolchain.
So I installes IAR to check how things work. I made a project with the same composition and of course used the GCC specific files.
Things now compile but I have errors with the linking.
Using the delivered linker script I get the following erros and don' really know how to handle them:
C:\\Users\\flori_000\\Documents\\CrossWorks Projects\\Testprojekt_RTOS\\os\\ports\\GCC\\ARMCMx\\STM32F4xx\\ld\\STM32F407xG.ld contains output sections; did you forget -T?
redeclaration of memory region `flash'
redeclaration of memory region `ram'
redeclaration of memory region `ethram'
redeclaration of memory region `ccmram'
cannot find entry symbol reset_handler; defaulting to 08000000

Removing the normal section placement file brought no success...

Thanks a lot for your help!

Let's hope that this guy replies soon: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1472
He seems to have a full working project sample.

Hi,

I actually just ported that demo to the new Crossworks 3.0 IDE. I've semi-ported the OS to Crossworks 2.3.1 but I had to modify some lines in the code to have it compile, which is not ideal since you don't want to modify OS code to be able to port it to a compiler. I recognize some of the errors, namely the reset handler name being recognized by the linker. You either have to do a preprocessor redefinition in the code if you are in 2.3.1 but there is a menu option in Crossworks 3.0 that lets you define the name of the reset handler.

Unfortunately the project file is on my workplace workstation, so I currently don't have access to it, but I will post it in this thread as soon as I get back to work.

Cheers,

Alex
