xml Generate button missing

Post by Scroggyg »

I have installed the latest version of Chibi Studio to my PC running Win7 Professional. I can compile and run projects.
This is a clean install, I haven't customised the toolbar.
I was wanting to create a custom board configuration, and I have been able to edit the XML, file but the Generate button seems not to appear on the toolbar.
I can see it in customise perspective, under sample toolbar, and I get turn grammar constraints off and reload dependencies and these options appear on the toolbar.
Any idea where it may be?

Hi,

The generate button appears only when a .chcfg file is selected in the projects view, is this your case?

Yes I have board.chcfg file open in edit, I have 2 tabs at the bottom, one design, the other source, as I said when I open this file 2 XML icons appear on the toolbar, Turn Grammar constraints on & reload dependencies, is there something else I need to load on my PC to build the XML?

Note, you don't need the .chcfg opened, you need the .chcfg file selected in the project explorer (focused).

Good day, Giovanni.
??? How to choose a file .chcfg in the project explorer (focused)? Sorry, I'm just trying to make ChibiStudio description of my boards for use in Keil.
Thank you !

Hi,

1) Open the project "common->ChibiOS (whole tree)" .
2) Go under ./boards
3) Clone one of the board directories and rename it with the name of your board. Pick a board with your same micro of course.
4) Edit the .chcfg file in there.
5) Regenerate the files.

Do not misunderstand. Open the file / ChibiOS-RT (whole tree) / boards/F103C8/cfg/board.chcfg and do not see the button to generate ?

The F1 is not supported by the generator, anyway, you don't need to have the file open, you need to have the file SELECTED in the project explorer.
