FATFS without heap support

Post by ucasano »

Hello all, I am trying to remove the heap memory allocation from a project of mine.
It seems like heap memory allocation is required for fatfs lfn support, so I were trying to remove the lfn support (_USE_LFN 0) and to set heap memory allocation setting to false.
While I compile the project, I gain:

../ChibiOS/ext/fatfs/src/option/ccsbcs.c:497:2: error: #error This file is not needed in current configuration. Remove from the project.

ccsbcs is fatfs related file.

In your opinion, is it a good idea to remove heap support and build totally static project? if yes, how do I get through the error above?

thanks.

Just a side note: When I remember you can also use LFN support that uses on the stack instead of the heap.
