New STM32F7xx - Cortex M7

Post by Tabulous »

Hi Giovanni
is this something you have already highlighted for Chibios intergration ?

These parts should not be to different from M4 Core, just more pipe lining in the core.

Of course I plan to support it. It is a very interesting core and the F7 seems to be very close to the F4 in terms of peripherals so it should not be a huge problem.

Strange, it is possible they wanted to be strictly compatible with the F4 , see package compatibility too, double precision FP would have required changes in the code because different stack frames would be required.

If so then I expect more M7-based families with higher clock, double FP and, probably, also multiple cores.
