Re: board config
Hi,
Note that in the XML you can define the output directory, it is defaulted to overwrite the old files.

Re: board config
Hi Giovanni. Thanks for the great tool for pin config!
Subtype In my board.chcfg is set to STM32F40_41xxx, but it generates define STM32F4XX in board.h. I need to change it manually every time I generate new board files.
Do I need some extra config to make it work right?
Dennis.

Re: board config
Hi,
There is a new version of the tool that generates the new IDs, it is on the repository already and will be included in ChibiStudio 6.
http://sourceforge.net/p/chibios/svn/HE ... dio_trunk/

Re: board config
I've installed the chibios tools and the config generator runs. But when I open the .chcfg file it just opens in a text editor, displaying the raw XML. How do I make it open in the fancy screen?

Re: board config
Does it open in the XML editor? if so, there are two selectable views: text and graphic, there are two tabs on the lower border of the editor.

I worked it out - I didn't have the XML editor plugin installed.
I've written a quick guide on installing the plugins and using the board config generator outside of ChibiStudio: http://cxkg.net/chibios-board-generator/
Re: board config
Hi all,
I followed the nice guide from Badger (http://cxkg.net/chibios-board-generator/), but the board generation doesn't work - when I hit "generate" I get following error:
I am using Eclipse Luna
Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers
Version: Luna Service Release 1a (4.4.1)
Build id: 20150109-0600
and ChibiOS 2.6 (https://github.com/mabl/ChibiOS/tree/stable_2.6.x).
To reproduce the problem - open CFG file from any board file (for example ST_STM32F4_DISCOVERY), and just hit run. If you make changes in the file (i.e. rename pin) it makes no difference.
Is the plugin supposed to work with new Eclipse?
Thanks for help.

Re: board config
Hi,
The latest board generator has an updated schema for the XML, that "hal_version" is a new required element in the board.chcfg file. It selects the destination files format (2.6 or 3.0).
You need to add this to your .chcfg file:

Re: board config
Hmm - Ive been using STM32f4Disco for years now, and it works fine with every IO I have tried. I have a microe Mini-M4, and have done some basic things with it. I have the usart working (C10,C11), but was trying to get CAN going, and thus far, have failed. CAN loopback works fine, but things are not happy when I try to actually send/recv data to the world. The board's processors are from the same family, but not the same (STM32F415RG) vs (STM32F407). Both boards have B8/B9 as the CAN xface pins. I would have thought that I could leverage the B8,B9 pin defs from the disco board files, and use them for the Mini-m4. I probably need to better understand the concept behind the board files. Can you tell me where to go? (everyone else does...)
TIA - sorry if Im using the wrong post. It seemed relevant.
