ChibiOs Eclipse Plugin STM32F1 Platform

Post by NeoFromMatrix »

Hello

I have seen STM32 F0, F3, F4, L1 as selectable platform in the Eclipse plugin, but no F1.
Is there a reason that this is not available?

Just taking a look at Chibios with the STM INEMO M1 hardware and wondering a bit...

Regards, a newbie :)

Hi,

On the F1 the GPIO is very different and would require new templates and a different XML schema, not worth it considering that the F1 is nearly obsolete now.

The F1 is also much easier to configure in board.h, try comparing with a board.h from other STM32s.

Ok, I think I may take a closer look at the INEMO example regarding the board config template.

Why is the F1 nearly obsolete ? STM did a 10 year longevity commitment starting with january 2015 on this line.

Thanks for your fast answer!

I would not use the F1 for new designs, this is why. Newer STM32s have a lot of advantages.
