STM32F3 ADC2 without DUAL mode

Post by neums »

Hi,
why there is no possibility to use the ADC2 of STM32F3 without the Dual Mode?

Hi,

Currently only ADC1 and ADC3 can be used alone. Allowing ADC2 and ADC4 would be possible but rather complex because the clock is shared between 1+2 and 3+4.

Is there a specific need for ADC2?

Hi,
i want to trigger the ADC 2 independantly. ADC1 and ADC2 just use the same Clock or not? That is defined only in mcuconf, isn't it?

Couldn't you use ADC1 and ADC3 instead? is there any specific reason for ADC2?

Support could be eventually added but it would take time.

The board is fully designed.
I think it is an improving and fundamental feature for this driver isn't it? The F3 is very special due to the ADC. It is one of the characteristical features of this derivat. I think that this whould improve the usability very much.

Thanks.

I need to asses changes, no promises. The driver is quite complex because all modes already.

Hi,

The change is feasible, it will be introduced with a new ADCv3 driver for both F3 and L4 families.

Hi

It has been committed on the repository, ADC2 and ADC4 should work also alone now.

Note that there are changes in mcuconf.h and in the ADCConfig structure.
