stm32f4discovery+lan8720+lwip not worked...

Post by Alexte »

Hi!
Example compiled IAR+FreeRTOS for expansion card DM-STF4BB works!
Hardware is all right.

Demo chibios3\demos\STM32\RT-STM32F407-OLIMEX_E407-LWIP-FATFS-USB
does not work...

Who was able to run PHY LAN8720 ?

There are two different versions of the Olimex board; at present the demo is set up for the older version.

If your E407 is Revision D or later, you need to edit the makefile line 95 to select the newer board:

Code: Select all

include $(CHIBIOS)/os/hal/boards/OLIMEX_STM32_E407_REV_D/board.mk

(I've certainly had the demo working)

@Giovanni - suggest updating the demo to use the newer board file.

That is not an Olimex board, you need specific board files for that to work, derived from the STM32F4-Discovery ones. Make sure all pins are configured correctly for Ethernet and not conflicting with other things or it will not work.

I would like to but I don't have a board to run tests on.

Certainly had the demo running a while back on a Rev E Olimex.
I've moved on from the demo, but as far as I can see it was only necessary to change the board file.
I'll see if I can give it another go next week.

Have just run up the demo on a Rev.E Olimex board, and confirmed that it was indeed only necessary to change the board file in the makefile:

Code: Select all

#include $(CHIBIOS)/os/hal/boards/OLIMEX_STM32_E407/board.mk
include $(CHIBIOS)/os/hal/boards/OLIMEX_STM32_E407_REV_D/board.mk

Using ChibiStudio 16 with GCC4.9 and no patches
Certainly the network port worked (which I think was the main difference between the RevD and earlier) and the serial over USB shell
