STM32F429 DMA with SDIO

Post by MobileWill »

Hi,

I am running into DMA conflicts with SDIO and SPI5 on stream ID 2,3. I am not using SPI6 but SDIO still won't let me use Stream id 2,6. With SPI6 set to false shouldn't I be able to use 2,6 for SDIO?

Thanks.

I changed SPI5 RX to 2,5 same as SPI6 TX. And then I could leave SDC to 2,3. Strange it doesn't work the other way around. Am I missing something?

Hi,

Not all channels can be assigned to any peripheral, read the Reference Manual in the DMA section and see if SDIO has alternate channels.

Forgot to ask if we can use SDIO in 1-bit mode and if so how do you set it? 4-bit is default?

The driver uses 4 bits mode, I am not sure about the required changes right now.

You could use an SPI port and the MMC_SPI driver.

I know, its 2,3 and 2,6. But I was asking why it is conflicting with SPI6 when it is not enabled. But setting SPI5 to conflict with SPI6 is okay.

Thanks that was my backup. Really wanted to give SDIO a try.

How does card detect work for the insert handler? Does it use the CD pin or some other way? If it uses CD where do you define the pin used?

I figured out how the card detect stuff works.
