USB connection problem

USB connection problem
I have assembled board with stm32f405 microcontroller and external crystal 8 Mhz. It uses ChibiOS 3.0.2. I wanted to test if USB interface works and ran demo from ChibiOS repository for STM32F4-Discovery board called STM32F4xx-USB_CDC. I can see that code runs from debugger, can even switch led but USB doesn't work. If i change defined constant in board.h from STM32F407xx to STM32F446xx it works without any problem. Any suggestions?

Re: USB connection problem
Hi,
Not enough info, make sure to create board files for your boards, most likely it is a pins set up problem. Also, try updating to the latest ChibiOS version, 3.0.2 is quite old now.
Moved this thread into a support section, this one is for development.

Re: USB connection problem
Thank you for quick answer Giovanni !
I used STM32F4 Discovery board configuration, the OTG pins for STM32f407 (STM32F4 Discovery board) and for STM32f405 are the same, I checked them in Manual. What does STM32F407xx defined constant in board.h? I've tried Latest build of ChibiOS and it does the same, i can blink LED and also see code execution in Debugger, but USB dont work. It only start working when i change constant in board.h file from STM32F407xx to STM32F446xx. My IDE is Eclipse Neon and it seems like board generator of ChibiOS doesn't have support of it:

Re: USB connection problem
Hi,
Neon no more supports the debugger interface used by the ChibiOS plugins, the last compatible release is Mars. Plugins will be updated at some point but I cannot give a timeline. You could use ChibiStudio for files generation until plugins get updated.
About your issue, still not enough info, we know that USB does work correctly on a lot of F407 boards, most likely it is a pins setup issue in your board files.
