Anyone implemented FTDI Serial Over USB client?

As an alternative to using STM VCP on a PC I'd like to have the option of using the FTDI VCP driver.
Anyone done this before I wade into usbcfg.c to modify the STM VCP client.
Project is running on STM32F413.
