I was about to ask in this old thread https://forum.chibios.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6344 if any work had begun, but I can see from git you _just_ have. Weird timing, but for some reason today clearing up my bench, a STM32U083-DK1 a sales rep gifted me months ago surfaced and I decided to plug it in.
I'm not sure if I can be of any use at this early stage, but I'd be interested in helping in any small ways I can to port/test this new family. I think I also have the Nucleo board on a shelf (my sales rep is very good to me), but if memory serves it is the same chip (perhaps different pins/package).
Please let me know if there's anything I can help with. I don't have tons of time, but would like to go a bit deeper into my Chibi understanding.

Re: STM32U083
Hi,
The U0 is work in progress, it is next in the pipe after U3. So far there is startup and RTOS support only, HAL is missing. The existing code in the trunk repository.
The usual way to proceed is to start from the HAL of the closest device, it could be the G0, then work on differences, the greatest effort is always the clock tree part, most device drivers should work with no or minimal changes.

Yup, I found your initial skeleton project and at least built, loaded and ran the main while loop stub. Openocd only just learned about the U0, but I'm over that hump.
I'll start studying the clock tree in the datasheets and the G0 clock code. I've set them up many times, but put little thought into how much ifdef switching etc. it takes to bring it all to the top. I guess I'll be glad that it isn't a H7
I'm sure I'll have some questions.
