Re: [FUN] Enigmatic screenshots (released)
NM. Just finished. Now for finding some time to try it out,....

Woot! First Bug!
When I try to update the software, I get:
Also, no update site is found at:

http://www.chibios.org

Fixed by changing my "Available software sites".

Sweet. Too bad I can't try it out now. But I will as soon as I return from my current trip.
Hope it gets F4 until then, but I'll try it anyway, even without a board. A Discovery would also be very nice. Just not sure the SPC can beat an F4, in my opinion, but another option is nice, specially if it has automotive protection. And a dual core one would be quite an impressive option too, if I could get one!

Hi,
I noticed those paths too, they slipped through when preloading the plugins. The ST update site is not ready yet... there is a web site revamp ongoing and we will have to wait for that.
The F4 components and a Discovery demo should be ready next week, it is a long work because I want to make all the options in crt0, port, board, chconf, halconf and mcuconf available through the GUI configuration tool. Following devices should be implemented fasted because they are basically subsets of the F4 (and I could use some help encapsulating them).
In the meanwhile try creating a component, it is the part that should be more interesting for developers. You can see how existing components are done, they are all on the ChibiOS subversion under branches.
About SPC devices, they are very fast clock per clock compared to the STM but they target a different market: automotive, safety, industrial. There are differences in temperature ranges and internal peripherals, the focus is on functional safety rather than price. The dual core Leopard is very impressive and there *will* be low cost boards soon.

Another note, we are already working internally on enhancing the configuration tool, for example it will be possible to insert images, text, horizontal lines to the interface in order to have a richer GUI for components.

I don't know if the pin configuration tool already has this or not, but it would be nice to setup aliases on it.
Something like #define macros for pins, ADC channels, maybe serial ports, etc.

Re: [FUN] Enigmatic screenshots (released)
Good idea, I will add the possibility to specify more than one name to each pin separated by commas, easy to do in the FreeMarker language.
BTW, the STM32 components are almost done but untested, you could try to build them and place them under ./plugins. Working on a demo application and defining all boards AGAIN in the new system.
Note that there will no more be multiple board files, the board component is always the same, there will be a collection of different board definitions in XML format loadable into the configurator and then freely customizable.
Implementing the F4 took 2 weeks, F3, L1 and F0 can be easily derived being pretty much subsets, F1 is more problematic because the differences in the GPIO.

OK, I'll be "that guy": When do you think this will leave the "pre-release" stage and be "released", with or without STMF4xx support?

Hi,
Probably next week, just waiting for confirmation about that compiler.

Hi,
Just a small update, the issues have been resolved and STM32F4xx components are almost ready too
Next week it is planned the "final" release.
I am really looking forward to actually start using the new tool after all the time spent in developing it.
