I am having problems getting the GDB stuff working. I can compile the STM32F4-DISCOVERY demo just fine.
When I select option 4 on the button to the right of the green Play button...
4. Atollic ST-LINK GDB SERVER (SWD)
I get...
Atollic TrueSTUDIO gdbserver for ST-Link. Version 1.6.0 Pro

Waiting for debugger connection...Waiting for TrueSTUDIO client to connect on port 61234 ...
Error while waiting for debugger connection.
Shutting down...
Debugger connection lost.
Shutting down...
Every other option gives me even worse errors, or asks for a config file!!
How would I give it a config file????
Weird shit like this is why Linux / FOSS will never make the mainstream...
If there were good docs, I could look it up, but there is not..
Thank god I can ask for help here!!!! </whine>
Frustrated

I'm using Atollic GDB Server 1.5.6 and it works fine.
Is it the case that latest Atollic GDB servers contain a lock-in to Atollic TrueStudio IDE? Maybe I'll try and find out. Try an older version and see if it works. However I don't know if it's still available.
Anyways I use OpenOCD v0.6.0, works better and programs faster than the stock GDB server. Maybe try it and see.
Also, if you use USB 3.0, please see here:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=552&start=47 , as you might encounter errors while connecting using Freddie Choppin Binaries.

Hi,
The Atollic GDB server is not open source

I am working with version 1.5.6, you are using 1.6.0, it is possible they changed something in order to not allow use outside their own environment.
No problems, use OpenOCD, it works with ST-Link perfectly.
Edit: Abhishek beat me this time

Previous versions of Atollic may be found here: (try 3.0 or 3.1)
http://download.atollic.com/TrueSTUDIO/installers/Don't know when they might come to know about this and remove all the stuff.
I'll take this post down soon, before the guys get a hint.

It's good enough. I hope the LED on the board is green now.
Now, go and launch GDB by clicking the bug icon and selecting the debug configuration.
