Shared DMA channels

Post by hkerner »

I know that a lot of drivers share DMA channels, and am wondering about the best way to identify if there is a conflict between drivers. Is all of this information encoded in the mcuconf for the file? For example, if my SPI1 is set up like so...

Code: Select all

#define STM32_SPI_SPI1_RX_DMA_STREAM        STM32_DMA_STREAM_ID(2, 0)
#define STM32_SPI_SPI1_TX_DMA_STREAM        STM32_DMA_STREAM_ID(2, 3)

...and there are no other drivers in mcuconf.h that have (2,0) or (2,3), is it safe for me to assume there are no DMA channel conflicts between SPI1 and other drivers?

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

Correct, the two numbers identify a channel so mcuconf.h tells you if a channel is used twice.

Channels assigned to disabled peripherals do not matter of course.
