Repeated Start on I2C?

Post by nikhil »

Hello,

I am trying to work with MPL3115A2 (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11084) barometric sensor with STM32F4 and Chibios 2.6.5
As per the datasheet this sensor requires repeated start I2C. I would like to know if this is supported by chibios. If not is there any way I can work around this to solve the issue?

Hi,

As far I know this dual address mode is not supported by the driver. You may try some I2C software implementation, it is not an application that requires high performance of the bus.

I interfaced this sensor to a STM32L1 some time ago and don't recall any issues.
The code here might be of some help to you: https://github.com/alanbarr/ChibiOS_Sensors/tree/master/MPL3115A2

It worked as it is. One should use 7 bit Slave address.

Thanks
