Question regarding EXT driver for F1xx

Post by Aslund »

Hello fellow chibies

I am in a situation where I can to respond to a pulse that is very short, around 3 microseconds wide.
An interrupt is necessary and I stumbled across the EXT driver.

In the testhal folder there is a simple example but what I don't understand.
Edit.
What I dont understand, how do you select which pin on GPIOA and GPIOC the EXT driver is reacting on

Hi,

EXT has 16 input lines, each line can be mapped on GPIOA....GPIOn. This means that the same bit cannot be monitored on different ports, for example if you use pin0 of GPIOA then you cannot use the pin0 of other GPIOs. This is an HW limitation, see the STM32 RM.

Hello Giovanni

To be honest. Your reply did not make any sense to me in the beginning, but got it now.
Each line EXTConfig refers to a port number and you then set which register it has to refer to ( GPIOA or GPIOC ).
The button in the example is on port 0and therefore defined on the first line. The led is on port 12 and therefore defined on the 13th line.
Quite smart but could be described better for us newbies :D

Sebastian
