OS-Less HAL with an OS

Post by aport »

When using the HAL with the bare-metal CMSIS OSAL, would there be any conflicts with using an RTOS in my application code?

From what I can tell I will lose a lot of benefits provided in the HAL, like suspending a thread until woken by a peripheral ISR (like data ready), but that's okay for my application. I don't see anything that should cause a problem but I wanted to ask the experts.

Hi,

There should not be conflicts unless the OS uses the same peripherals, timers for example, in that case there would be conflicting ISRs.
