How to create a custom board project?

Post by Chudik »

Made my own environment based on ChibiOS like wrote in neighbor topic. Made some changes in the base project based on Nucleo board, understood basic things. Thought to transfer my old ChibiOS based project that works up to certain point to continue in this environment and figured out that I don't need it.

I have my own custom board. It's a good time to create a project for it and continue on it, not on the Nucleo board.

Giovanni, early you said the custom board project generator included into ChibiStudio. Could you point me were exactly it is?
The custom board built on the same µC as used on Nucleo board, but definitely has different external peripheral. It uses standard ST-Link /V2 debugger adapter by STM with SWO. So, I think better build a custom project than try to adapt Nucleo board project.

Hi,

That is an "update site" for Eclipse, you can install it in your Eclipse then run the generator from there like in ChibiStudio (assuming your Eclipse satisfies all dependencies).

From eclipse click on the .chcfg file and a button appears in the toolbar.

Oh, my God...
To which project should it be installed?

I've never built Java projects.

If you are using ChibiStudio you don't need to install anything.

In other Eclipse do "Help->Install New Software..." and put the URL there, you should see the new plugins.

Ok. Where in ChibiStudio can I find the custom board project generator?

Is it all what needed?

Found another thread
viewtopic.php?t=1941
opened in 2014,
Are there any changes since that?

Unfortunately it is not all I need :(
If it had all alternative functions for each pin - that would be all I need :)
Ideally - get .ioc file after CubeMX and convert it to config file for ChibiOS.

It discussed in viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1871 , but that generator has not been finished.
